O

oldjay

I can't seem to be able to install the Template Wizard
with Data Tracking in Excel 2003. On MS download page it
only refers to Excel 2002. I downloaded this file and
installed it. The Template Wizard does not appear on the
Data menu.

What happened to the Template Wizard

Hi oldjay

I have always read that it is working in 2003.
I have try it for you and notice that the install file is not working in 2003

I install the Add-in on a 2002 machine and copy the xla to the
2003 machine to let it work.

If you not have this option post back and I send you a copy.

Don't have this option.
Please send me a copy Thanks

oldjay

Here is some additonal information if you have not gotten the wizard
working:The other response was good - the installer does not seem to work
since I downloaded and tried it several times. However, getting another copy
does the trick - I had a copy of Office 2000 running on another machine so
there is a good probablility that any copy of the wizard will work. Got the
file WZTEMPLT.XLA from the "program files\microsoft office\office\library"
file and copied to the corresponding Office 2003 file. Excel's default
location appears to be in the Microsoft\office\addins directory in the user
application documents directory but I don't like having data I need strewn
all over the computer so I can't conveniently find it for backups. You can
probably put it anywhere you like because you then have to tell Excel where
it is. Load an Excel sheet, got to Tools then Addins where you get a
dropdown box and select browse. Select WZTEMPLT.XLA from wherever you put it
and close the dialog. You may get a message that it is already somewhere
else - OK. Once the dialog closes go to the Data menu and you should find
the Template Wizard.
