Template queston

When right clicking on the desktop and selecting "New" I want to only see
"Folder" and "Shortcut" appear as the choices. Every time I open MS Streets
& Trips 2005, the application places a template into the list under "New" as
outlined above. Is there a registry tweak which can eliminate the app from
doing this? I have used Tweak UI to constantly remove this item from the
selection under "New." What I am hoping to discover is a registry tweak
that will permit me to open MS Streets and not have the program add the
template to the context menu under "New."

The first thing to do would be to scan through the menu options for the
program (Tools > Options or Edit> Preferences etc) to see if the program
offers it's own choice as to whether the context menu option is added.

Otherwise, you could work out exactly at what point the registry entry is
added ie at startup, upon choosing an option in the program, or on closing
the program - then have a small program that both launches MS Streets and
deletes the registry entry at the appropriate time.

Alternatively, you could try play around with 'permissions' on the
particular registry key locations (right-click key > permissions), so that
the system could not write to it, although that might have adverse side
effects with the running of the application and of other applications.
