Template problems

Hi,

I am updating a word template because the required document
styles/outlay have changed. The original template included vba scripts
that were called via a button on the menu. In making the changes I
copied the vba modules etc into the new document style and saved this
as a .dot file. Within the template i also created a new button that
calls the relevant vba script to run (this has been done correctly as
by pressing the button when the .dot file is open it will start to
execute). If we double click the actual .dot file it does open up a new
document BUT does not include the all imortant menu button. The vba
code and the template style changes are all there so I do not
understand why all the template character (i.e. the button on menu) is
not reflected in the doucment.

any help would be much appreciated.

cheers fint

You say "Within the template i also created a new button". Were you very,
very careful to select the template file when you did this? By default,
Word might have saved the button to, say, Normal.dot.

There's another possibility, but it's a bit obscure... Where did you add
the menu (to which toolbar)? If - as a test - you create a new toolbar
and put a button on it to run the code, does that show up and work
properly?
