template for a book library db

I run a small library of books and cd's for our unit and would like an access
template to help me record books in stock, who lent to, when returned,
reminders etc. I vaguely remember there used to be one in Access 97. Any
ideas?

Dear Trainer:

There is a book collection template from Microsoft here:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/TC010186431033.aspx

There may also be other sources for library software that might do the job
for you. There are professional quality library programs available for very
low cost ($50...), or even freeware. Considering how much time it might
take to modify the Microsoft template, you might be better off using
something pre-built.
A quick Google search reveals many dozens of vendors selling a wide variety
of library management software. For example, you might look at the
following:
http://directory.google.com/Top/Reference/Libraries/Library_and_Information_Science/Software/

Or, you can find shareware library systems as well, with a search at
www.tucows.com, or even a Google search for "free library software".

You might also be interested in a small library application which I have
created using Access, and which is available as freeware. It includes a
circulation system and an online catalogue. You can check it out here:

Good luck!
