Template and auto text

We have a template that contains many auto text entries that are updated
frequently. The template is located on a network drive. Occasionally, users
will save a document based on the template to their desktop and work on their
laptop away from the network, which means the auto text entries are now
unavailable to them. Is there any way around this? I know if the
Automatically update document style box in Tools-Templates and add-ins is
checked that the styles in the template will be re-applied to their document,
but if they are working away from the network, the template is not available.
Thanks for your help.

One way is to keep a local copy on the laptop so that the AutoText entries
are available; you would have to temporarily change the path in the
"Document template" box of the Templates and Add-Ins dialog box.

Another method is to put a copy of the template in the Startup folder. That
way, the AutoText entries will be available. Note that this would probably
mean (I havent tested yet) that you'll see duplicate AutoTexts when the
attached template is in fact available.

Save the template locally so that you can access it when you are not
connected to the network.
