Does anyone know if it is possible within xp to Delete the info in the Index
file in temp internet files - also how do you erase the Typed History
address's

You looked in Control Panel at INTERNET OPTIONS? Several Temp Internet
Files operations can be accomplished there.

Cheers for that - Most seem to require me to d/l a prog or two (usually not
free!) but have found description of removal of index.dat by using dos -

In Control Panel - Internet Options, you can click Delete Files to empty
out the TIF folder and its index; and 'Clear History' to empty the
History, including the Typed URLs
