I'm running DSL broadband internet access.

For whatever reason, my Temporary Internet Files Folder setting is 1221mb.

I've been told that, because I'm running broadband, that particular setting
should be down around 10mb.

Does the 10mb sound right? The reason I ask is because that's a seemingly
drastic change.

Yes, 10mb is good when using broadband. The reason is since broadband is so
fast in displaying the web pages that you don't need to cache 100's or
1000's of pages anymore, like you did on dial up, to try to speed web pages
being displayed.

I think myself that it is a bit low, but 1221 is much too high and
likely to result in indexes tripping and hence (for example) not being
able to save pictures except as BMP. I'd suggest about 50 MB should
be plenty without having high overhead
