TEMP FOLDER

Hi, just out of interest, why is it that within the TEMP folder, consists
folders such as:

Temp Internet Files, History & Cookies (They are always empty anyway), even
though the original directories exist within the following directory: (and
within them, they do contain files)

C:\Documents and Settings\Other\Local Settings.

can the folders within the TEMP folder be deleted?

They are for locally cacheing web information from visited sites so that
re-visiting those sites un-changed information can be loaded quickly
into the browser from the local cache instead of downloading the info again.

Yes, but they will automatically be re-created again so there's not much
point in doing so.

Yes, after a fresh restart you can delete everything in the TEMP folder,
including subfolders, hidden, system and read-only files (if any of the
files here are in use -- Windows won't let you to delete them, with the
message "Access denied").

Sometimes (very rare) I get these folders inside TEM folder, too -- but
didn't try to find the cause of such behavior.
