I am new to Win2000 Pro. I have noticed there are several
places containing temp files. I do clean out cookies and
temporary internet files via Internet Explorer but I
notice that in my files: Documents and Settings >
Administrator > Local Settings I am inundated with temp
files. Can these be manually removed? I have also noticed
there are several .exe files in the Temp files. Can these
also be manually removed?

Thanks...really confused here.

After a restart, with no applications or installs running, you can delete
them.

Dear Robert,

Temp dirs under Documents and Settings dir is for users and under WINNT dir
is for system.
Definitely you can delete all temp files, those *.exe are stored usually by
program installation or Winzip etc.
