Temp directory in Local Settings

David

I am seeing that the Temp directory in "Documents and
Settings\<UserName>\Local Settings is taking up over one Gig, which is way
more than I can afford in that particular partition.

- Is there a way to clear them out?
- Set the limit so that it won't take up that much?

While we are at it, is there a way to set up Documents and Settings
elsewhere besides the C drive?

Yes, they are temporary, delete them. (If you might have installed anything
since last rebooting, reboot first.)

No, but since they are no longer needed after a restart, delete them
occasionally.

perhaps someone else will know this if you still want to

Hi David,

This is normal.

Edit/select all/delete.
- Set the limit so that it won't take up that much?
Nope.

While we are at it, is there a way to set up Documents and Settings
elsewhere besides the C drive?

No, this is a fixed system folder.

You can put the My Documents folder along with the other "My" folders on
another drive, but Documents and Settings needs to stay on the boot drive.
