Just recently, whenever I start my PC (with Win XP Pro),
the tcpsvcs.exe program consistently uses about 99% of the
available resources. Can anyone give me a clue as to what
causes this and a possible solution? Thanks!

what else is running on the box (e.g. are you doing email, IM, web browsing
....etc)
Also what shows up in NETSTAT (its a command line tool)

Hi!

I had a similar problem under XP.

Open the 'Services' control panel (administrative tools) and
stop/disable the 'Simple TCP/IP Services' entry. (tcpsvcs.exe)

Since this service is disabled I haven't anymore CPU over-consuming..
