Tax % in a cell

The sub-total which is the taxable amount is in K27, but when I do the
formula you gave me K27*.0775= it gives me the wrong amount. Sorry for not
understanding.
Debe

Sub-Total $27.00
Shipping $4.50
Tax K27*.0775= gave me like 20.00. HELP!
Deposit

Final Balance $31.50
 
Check the decimal position in .0775. The multiplying $27 by .0775 produces a
result of 2.0925
 
Go to Tools-->Options-->Edit and make sure Fixed decimal is not selected.
Click OK, and then press F9 to recalculate.

Does that work?
 
$27.00*0.0775 gave me $2.09 (but * 0.775 will give $20.09). Are you sure the
% factor is right?
