Tasks - Customize Current View reverts back to default

In the Tasks window I only want to show the Subject & Priority. I open
Customize Current View & set the Fields I want but when I leave that window &
then go back, it has changed back to the default view (with several columns I
don't want & no Priority column). What am I missing? Do I have to save it
somehow? (I'm a new user moving over from ACT so please be kind.)

Press the Reset Current View and then Apply button and then try making your
modifications again.

Thanks for the suggestion. I gave it a try but same thing; after I make the
changes (2 columns, Task Subject & Priority) it looks fine, but after I leave
the window (such as by clicking Mail) & then return to Tasks, it's back to
multiple columns (Task Subject, Start Date, Reminder Time, Due Date, In
Folder, Catagories, Reminder, & Flag). BTW I'm using Outlook 2007
(12.0.6212.1000) SP1 MSO (12.0.6213.1000), on XP Pro.

Does it stick when you define a new view?
View-> Current View-> Define Views...
