Taskbar

My taskbar is all white (hard to describe other than it looks like it never
loaded properly prior to a crash). I would like it back to default color.

Also, my quick launch programs in taskbar has to many exposed, I would like
to shorten it and use up arrow to how them(another issue hard to explain,
quick launch is showing too many, would like to hide 2/3 of them I guess)

I use WIN XP Serv P 2, I.E. 6.0 and OE 6.0 and Firefox occasionally.

1. Right-click on Desktop and choose Properties. From the Theme tab choose
"Windows XP" and apply changes.

For Quick Launch.

1. Right-click on an empty area of your Taskbar and uncheck "Lock the
Taskbar" option.
2. Now, you can notice two handlers on both side of your Quick Launch. Try
decreasing the size of right handler as required. Again check the "Lock the
Taskbar" option.

I have the latest trial version 8.2.0 version. I tried it and get very good
results.
The options you can use are:

1. Text from Windows

Profile settings

Input - Region.

What you have to do is the select the region of your Title Bar. You have to
do it manually because otherwise there are many other options available to
capture text from Object, Window, Active Window, Fixed Region etc. You can
use Hot Key too and 100s of fine options are available.

You can also trim down your quicklaunch by going to the folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Quick Launch
and deleting some of those things in there...especially if you have a
shortcut to the program somewhere else on your Start Menu or on your
Desktop. After all, they're only shortcuts to programs anyway.

If you delete the Show Desktop by accident, there are ways to get it
back...just search the newgroup messages for the directions.

Thank you RajKohli, my quick launch bar suits my needs better now, quite an
easy fix. The desktop fix didn't do the job though. I am not explaining it
correctly, so I can live with it , tks again for quick response.

I wans't trying to trim down the quick launch, only the viewable taskbar
portion, I want all the programs in it, but tks anyway Tracy.

You didn't even describe your desktop problem. Whats wrong about your Desktop?
