taskbar won't hide

Recently, and it appears after installing most recent updates, I cannot get
the taskbar to hide whereas before there was no problem. It will hide one
time only after going to properties and resetting it but after that it stays
present. Help please!

Click http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_abc.htm and click "T". Look at
Taskbar Repair Tool Plus! and the other helpful suggestions offered by
Kelly.
