Taskbar will not display open programs

I'm sorry that I know pretty much nothing about computers, so plas
excuse my horrible description of my issue.

My computer was moving a tad bit slow. I was being a bad chemcia
engineering major and opened up two huge programs(my old lapto
couldn't even take 1 of them being open for more than 20minutes)
Anyways, it was absolutely horrible so I decided to restart m
computer.

When windows came back up everything looked normal but then I opened
program and there was no little bar with an image dispaying 'interne
explorer' or anything like that. When I minimized the window i
disappeared completely and I had to go through task manager to bring i
back up. I've had the issue for a few days and it is really annoying.

I tried to play with the taskbar options but the closest option I wa
given was if I wanted the program boxes that are missing to stack u
similar programs(ie "6 inernet expl...") or stay singular (6 differen
boxes in stead of one)

I'm sorry if I am making this out to be a big deal especially if i
isn't but I really can't seem to fix anything and all my interne
searches pull up are about displaying running/non-running taskba
icons(in the box near the clock) and my problem is in the middle area.

A better solution is the Taskbar Repair Tool Plus might be better:

And do not forget to re-enable the Quick Launch toolbar after.

If you move your cursor to the bottom of the screen, do any of the bar/icons
appear? If they do, try this:
-Move your cursor to the bottom of the screen to get the taskbar to appear
briefly.
-Right click on the taskbar.
-Select Properties.
-Uncheck the "Autohide the Taskbar" checkbox, if it is checked.
-Click OK.

AMAZINGLY!!!

I still don't know what the issue was but I clicked a link, ran a
program, and magically all the minimized program buttons reappeared
