taskbar troubles

i took my computer in to get fixed, and it is working
well now, however in the process, i lost the volume icon
in the taskbar and also the battery life meter...i am not
sure how to get them back...any help would be greatly
appreciated...if anyone knows, could you please e-mail me
as i know i will not be able to find where this newsgroup
is ever again..im really bad at computer stuff...thankyou

Put any website in your "favorites" so you can easily access it later.
Your email was not entered nor is it recommended for it will create a lot
of spam mail to you later. Plus, posts at Newsgroups are for all readers
benefit who may have similar problems. Your battery meter should show when
you disconnect/unplug the AC adapter. For the volume icon, go to:
Start/Control Panel/Sounds and Audio/check "place volume icon in taskbar"
click Apply and OK.

In addition to what Byte has replied, check that the box to show the
battery icon in the tray is checked in Control Panel> Power Options.
