Taskbar Program Icons

Is there a way in XP to force all program icons on the taskbar to keep
getting narrower indefinitely as more programs are opened so they are
all visible, like in W2K? I don't want them to start scrolling to
other rows because this forces me to start clicking the up/down arrows
to find the hidden icons. Nor do I want similar taskbar buttons
grouped. I've seen similar postings, but none I've found have the
answer. Thanks.
 
AFAIK there is no way. You can turn off the grouping which you already seem
to know about, but that's about it, I think.

I agree that there is no way, but you could make the task bar two (or
three) rows tall to see all the icons better.
