Taskbar problems

I would like to know how to change the orientation of my taskbar. At some
point, I dragged it to the right side vertical orientation and would like to
drag it back, but it won't let me. Also, in an unrelated problem, when I
shrink programs to the taskbar, they close entirely. Anyone know how to
solve?

Right-click the Taskbar and remove the check-mark from in front of
"Lock the Taskbar." You should then be able to click & drag to the
desired location.
