Taskbar problem

On previous PC regardless of how many files I opened in
Excel or Word, I had only one eXcel and One Word
application button on the taskbar. I would switch files
with the Window for the application (menu selection).

With my new PC it opens a new button for each file opened
in Excel and Word. How can I stop this and have ONLY one
button for each Application instead of one for each File?

Please Help!

It depends on the Office version. Suggest posting your question to an
Office newgroup with the version you're having trouble with.

If you are running Windows XP,
you can group applications on the taskbar.

Click...
Start
Settings
Taskbar & Start Menu
Select "Group similar taskbar buttons"
