Taskbar Notification Area

Sorry for pressing the send button before finishing my post. I have
uninstalled Nero, and was able then to replace the missing icons, but would
like to know why they would disappear without any input to permit this. I
even tried unchecking the 'hide inactive icons' but it made no difference.
My OS is XP Pro SP2, and I am the only user.
I would like to reinstall Nero tomorrow.
