Taskbar Icons

Running XP Sp2
I'm trying to install the button to hide inactive icons on the task bar. I
go to properties of the task bar and check the hide inactive icons box and
check apply but the button does not appear. Any suggestions as to what I am
doing wrong?

Hi Richard

Sometimes locking and unlocking the taskbar helps to get rid of this.
(right click the task bar and check/uncheck "Lock the taskbar")
