Taskbar icons

Hello.

Not all of the icons that should be in the taskbar are there. I configured
Windows to always show those icons, even if they have not been used, but
anyway many do not show. For instance, sound volume and power do not show,
and I have configured both to be there. The icons show up sometimes and
sometimes they don't.

Two questions:

1. How can I do to always see my taskbar icons?

2. Where does Windows store those icons? I have not found any folder or
registry entry that says which icons to show in taskbar.

Thanks.

Try disabling the SSDP Discovery Service and the uPnP Service. From Start |
Run | services.msc | Ok scroll to those two services, stop them if they are
started and set to disabled.

The little stretch button << that allows you to unhide icons in the lower
right corner disappeared. Now I just have a line that looks like this - I.
I either have to set all icons to always show or always hide, and always
show doesn't always work. Is there any way to fix this problem and bring
back the button? Thanks.
