Taskbar Icon

I have a new taskbar icon that I cannot get rid of. It comes up very often
telling me that my computer has a spyware infection and I should download a
program to get rid of it.

If I right click the icon it just gives me the same message. How can I get
rid of this thing!!

It is more likely a adware. And can be a virus, Trojan, spyware. REMOVE IT
IMMEDIATELY by a good :
Run your Adware remover, spyware remover, Anti-virus. Good method is you do this in
Safe Mode.


Well before that, you can try running msconfig to see if it is in Startup:
Start > Run > Type msconfig > Go to Startup tab > Uncheck any item you find
suspicious.

Is it the Yield sign with an exclamation? If so, boot into safe mode and
remove MMediaCodecs from Programs and Add or Remove.
