Taskbar control

Hi

I have my taskbar set on autohide to keep it out of view unless I need
it, but right now it keeps popping up everytime I open an app and wont hide
itself unless i manually make the new app window active at least once.

is there a way to fix this?

Clicking anyplace else on the screen should hide the bar.
