Hi, i'm trying to fix a win98 machine. The problem is that once i log into
the machine the taskbar appears for a quick second then is gone and nothing
else happens. No desktop icons, the numlock light stays lit and there are NO
running tasks in the task manager. The only thing I can do is hit
ctrl+alt+del and see the task manager. There are no processes running
however.

The computer is on a network with another machine, so i've been able to see
the crashed machine from the working machine. Even when there are no tasks
running I can still see all the files and even change/delete files.

I've tried everything. I REALLY need some help FAST. I have to go back and
fix the computer tomorrow . Any input would be a great help thanks.
