Taskbar and Start menu gone horrible size

Hi

I noticed today that my task bar icons have gone really big and ugly, all
pixolated. Its the same with my start menu items.

The view is set to small icons and its not a screen rez thing because the
resolution is the same as it has always been and my desktop looks fine. Its
just the task bar and start menu.

Resizing the taskbar does nothing either.

Anyone else had this? If so whats the fix?

I found a fix but it's a bit of a hack. I posted it in case it happens to
anyone else
I went to themes and changed to WIndows Classic this set my taskbar back to
the right resolution. I then changed the theme back to XP and the taskbar
stayed the right resolution.

Not sure how the hell it changed in the first place though
