task scheduler

Running xp home. I seem to have lost the use of the task
scheduler. I used to have the disk clean up, Norton
virus scan, Live up date, and windows up datr start
automatically every few days. Now the log says that they
fail to start because password is incorrect or the
program is not there. I never had passwords on them
befor and I have not changed the programs. This happened
after a windows update - I don't remember which one -
just recently. Restore did not reverse the condition.

Any thoughts or suggestions?
