Task Scheduler and Windows XP Pro

Task Scheduler Does not start scheduled tasks. All Tasks seem to be set up properly. Tasks can be started manually by selecting run in the Scheduled Tasks Window. All Tasks retain a never message in the last run column. The next scheduled date and time are getting updated properly. No message is being posted in the scheduled tasks window as to reason for not executing the task. Most of the tasks set up are for scheduled backups using the windows included backup routine. A simple scheduled task is set up as a test to call up the windows calculator. Services indicates that Task Scheduler and Remote Procedure Call have been started. Thanks.
