Task manager

Whenever I try to open task manager by pressing
ctrl+alt+del nothing happens. If I continually press
ctrl+alt+del I am lucky if it pops-up for a breif
instant. I am running win xp home and recently changed
my settings so that when ctrl+alt+del is pressed windows
security opens. However, I am still unable to open task
manager by clicking on the button with the task manager
label. Any help would be appreciated.

W32.spybot worm disables NAV, Msconfig, Regedit and Task Manager:

The same symptom is caused due to Klez, Yaha Viruses. It is advisable to run
a full system scan. Be sure you update the anti-virus software definitions.
