Task Manager / Regedit disappearing

Hi.

I have a problem with the Task Manager, Regedit and MSConfig flashing up for
about two seconds and then disappearing.

I have run the Emergency Utilites program and can now open Taskmgr1, etc. I
have also updated and run my Norton Anti Virus files but they are no longer
picking up anything. There were viruses before but they have been deleted.

I can't see any rogue programs running in Task Manager. Taskmgr1 works fine
but if I copy it and rename it into C://I386, it continues to shut itself.

Can anybody point me in the right direction ?

Any help gratefully received.

Thanks for the swift reply. Tried that but none of those lines are showing
in the Registry. Any other ideas ?

Duncan, please see my reply to "Taskman gone haywire" (search for it in
the Groups if it isn't apparent).

Malke,

Thanks for your reply. Norton Personal Firewall is installed but am still
having the same problem. Norton Anti Virus picked up Sasser and said that
it had deleted it but still problems with Taskman. Is there anywhere else I
should be looking ?

Best regards,

Obviously, the url wraps in my newsreader and you'll need to enter it
into your browser's addressbar on one line.
