How can I identify the processes that are running on my XP sp2? Some are
readily identifiable, like iexplore.exe and ccapp.exe, but most are not.
Items such as msimn.exe and msmgs.exe are repeated 3 or more times on the
list. My computer is basically virus and spyware free, but it's running a
bit slow these days, especially at certain times (yes, I checked the
schedules for those programs that scan and they all take place in the wee
hours when the computer is not in use).
I suspect that many "unnecessary" programs are running in the background and
I'd like to shut them down, but I'm afraid to do so for fear of causing any
problems. I would copy and paste the processes list here, but it does not
allow me to do so (if there is some way to copy this list, please advise).
Thanks for your help.
