Task Manager not in Services

I have a Windows 2000 SP4 Machine here and the Task Manger Services is not in
the Services list. If you go into the "Scheduled Tasks" and click Advanced
and "Start using task schedular" it gives me a "Unable to start the service".

We have another 2k machine where the Task Manager Service shows up fine.
Any ideas how to get it back in there?
