Task manager no longer working

I have win XP Pro and the task manager was working fine
until recently. I had made no changes to the software,
but when I went to open the task manager, it would show
for a second and then disappear. I re-loaded XP and have
good anti-virus software, but the problem persists. I
would welcome anyone able to help me get this working
again. Thanks.

Hi Chris,

Did you update the A/V software definitions?

W32.spybot worm disables NAV, Msconfig, Regedit and Task Manager:
