Help; When I use control, alt & delete my task manager
opens but there are no tabs to click, so I have no way to
choose what I want to do. To close the task manager I have
to click on the icon that opens in my sys tray. Any
suggestions would be most helpful, whatever is going on is
affecting my sys restore because I cannot use it, when I
try to use restore I get a system32\pc32.exe error. Any
one know whats going on? I am running win xp IE6 all
updates have been downloaded. Thanks

Just double-click the outer frame and all tabs will be back.
Alternately, download the reg patch and run it.

I've had a similar problem... I discovered a handful of
Trojan virus's ... my McAfee Virus Scan deleted them, but
the damage was already done apparently. One of the
things I noticed right away was that the "General" tab was
missing from my internet properties window. I also tried
the system restore (which I have used successfully in the
past) and was unable to use it this time. Check for
Trojans in your system... but I've been at a loss as to
how to restore my internet explorer to full status. I'm
sure other things are missing that I haven't even
discovered yet. Very frustrating. -Sabrina

Remove IE Restrictions & Restore Missing tabs. Download a fix from:
http://mvps.org/sramesh2k/reg/IE_reset_restrictions.reg

The problem may be due to:

1. A spyware. Download Ad-Aware from www.lavasoftusa.com, scan the system
and eliminate the malware products. Re-apply the above fix if necessary.
** Remember to update the pattern file using WebUpdate in Ad-Aware **

( Caused by a malware called CoolWebSearch. Also, Download:
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/cwshredder.zip )

2. You have enabled SpyBot immunize (protection) feature or any other
similar software. Also, disable the following features:
"Lock IE start page against user changes"
"Lock IE control panel against opening from within IE"
