task bar

How do you place a program icon on the task bar. I tried
to drag an icon from desktop to task bar but it does not
work.

I read all the other replies. No one mentioned that you have to UNLOCK
the task bar in order to enable the Quick Launch toolbar. Right click
the taskbar and choose "unlock taskbar". Then right click it again and
choose Toolbars, Quick Launch. Now you can drag an icon into the Quick
Launch taskbar, just like Win98 and Win2k.

first you have to right click on the task bar and enable

quick launch on the toolbar dropdown menu. Then you can
drag a icon to that part of the task bar, but sometimes
it hides so you would have to click on the double arrow>>
to get the extra icons that are there.
