Task bar

I sent a message the other day about the task bar. It elongated and I
can't get smaller. The task bar is not locked. When I put the arrow
on the top line and try to shorten it it wont' work.
How can I get it to shrink to the smaller size?

Drag the items on the second line to the top line, then you will be able to
reduce the size. If you set the clock to display the date, it also creates a
second taskbar line.
