Task bar won't hide/appear

My task bar used to hide and then appear on top of the
applications. Now it will hide/appear if the application
is not in full window, or if I resize the application
window, but will not appear on top of the
application, unless I have "keep ontop of all
applications" selected and then it will not hide.

Don't know what changed. It used to work fine.

Any ideas would be appreciated.
 
Make sure that "Always On Top" as well as "Auto Hide" are checked in the
TaskBar Properties dialog.
