Task bar showing icons not required

Hi,

I have Office 200o and the use the office tool bar, but
for some reason after so long the Task bar in windows XP
shows the Office Toolbar on it. When a programme is open
and it shows on the task bar, I understand, but why does
the taskbar keep showing this. When I close the Office
tool bar, the taskbar will go on to do the same to other
applications that are running in the background. Is there
something I can do to stop this.
