Hi

I am running XP Home.

When I load more than one window from the same program, for example
if I open three Word Docs, the task bar icons build on top
of each other instead of simply getting smaller so they fit on the taskbar,
which is the way it is on my other PC running XP Pro.
How do I get the icons to remain separate

thanks

Daniel

Right click an empty area of your Task bar and select Properties and uncheck
the 'Group similar Taskbar Buttons'

Hope this Helps,

Simon.

I found that behaviour annoying as well. I have a utility called
FreshUI which can disable task grouping (as well as changing a lot of
other settings). You can get it from www.freshdevices.com. You have to
register it, but that is free.
I would be very careful about changing settings under "Covering Your
Track" in that utility. Some of those have unexpected (and undesirable)
results.
