task bar items

How do you remove items from the Task Bar?
I have things on there that I never use now such as "joystick" and other
items that can be removed.

If these items are showing are they considered to be Processes - what are
processes?
In my area when I look in the task manager I have 47 processes, in my wife's
area she only has 32 why the difference?

Her area seems to load quicker than mine..

Hi Jo,

Check for an option to not having the icon load in the System Tray via the
program(s) in question.

Other options for removal:

Go to Start/Run and type in: msconfig. Go to the Startup Tab and uncheck
accordingly. Then run this script to remove the disabled items from the
registry.

Clear Disabled Items from Msconfig Startup (Line 148)

Looked and decided that I couldn't do those things
