task bar for word

I have been using XP since 10/09/03 which includes
microsoft word. the other day I opened up to write a
letter and I had no task bar. I took the machine back
where I bought it in October, they tried to find the bar
and said it was in the software. Has anyone had this
experience. If so how did you resolve it? Thank you

hi Stan,
If you mean the 'Status Bar' at the bottom of MS Word then
you may find that this is resolved by maximising the
window.

If you really do mean the Task bar, I don't think this is
a MS Word issue. It maybe a property setting of the Task
bar. If you hover the mouse pointer at the bottom of your
screen it may popup.

If it doesn't popup, then look for a double ended arrow
shaped mouse pointer when you hover the pointer at the
bottom of your screen. When you have this shape drag up to
reveal.

Once you see the Task bar right mouse click on the task
bar (in a space, not on a button) and select properties.
Ensure that the option 'Always on top' is selected.

Luck
Jonathan
