Task Bar Clean-up

Can anyone give me information on how to delete all those
pesky icons that keep acting like rabbits or metal coat-
hangers? the only choice seems to 1)always show; 2)always
hide; 3)hide when inactive. i must have 50 icons, some
the description no longer matches icon, and somehow they
interchange showing and hiding and multiply on every
update please help, thanks in advance, lew

If you will goto the start tab goto run type in( msconfig )goto the start tab an un check everything but your virus protector then click apply then close the window it will prompt you to restart do so.when your comp restarts a window will open saying your comp has been reconfigured click dont show again .. if you are happy with your results cool if not repeat the above until so
