I have a Seagate 10/20 gig tape drive that works fine on a
Windows 98 machine, however when I try to install it on a
Windows XP Professional machine the machine indicates that
it is uable to load the tape controller driver. Any
assistance in getting the tape drive to work would be
appreciated.

In order to get the unit to work, you need to install the correct controller
drivers.

1) If it uses SCSI controller, find the XP drivers and install it.

2) If USB is used, install the USB XP drivers

3) If IDE/ATAPI controller, the tape drive should be installed as Secondary
Master unit

4) If the unit needs a Floppy controller, you are out of luck. Microsoft
does not support floppy-based devices other
than the standard 3.5 1,44 MB floppy drive.
