Maybe I should add my friend does crafts. She has some that she adds mirrors
to. She wants to take pictures for display purposes. When she takes a picture
with a 35mm camera she always get flash back in the picture. I have a Canon
A70 digital camera. Any help would be appreciated.

This camera is capable of long exposure time and thus can take very good
pictures of stationary objects in very low light.
Turn the flash of, set the camera for ISO 100 and place the camera on a
tripod or a solid object in front of what you want to photograph. Now set
the camera on the two seconds self-timer (so you will not move the camera
when pressing the button and get a blurry picture) and let the camera take
the picture.
In addition to the other suggestions, if the photo is taken at a
45-degree angle to the source of reflection (a mirror, window, or other
reflective surface) the flash will not reflect back directly at the lens.
