taking a long time to load personal settings.

Can a profile be "cleaned up"? It seems that it's taking
up to two minutes to load a profile. When I first got the
computer it was immediate. My guess is that the profile
is very large. Any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated.

Right-click on the "My Computer" icon and go to "Properties">advanced>Performance [Settings] this will enable you to add only the setting you want so that XP doesn't waste a lot of resources on bells and whistles. For my users I simply set the performance settings to "Best Performance" this will uncheck all the Frills such as "Fade or slide Menus" and "Icon shadowing" These are all just appearance frills.
