takes like 20 tires to start up

vista sucks

my fiance has a HP pavilion dv6000 running vista home premium amd turion 64
x2 mobile TL-50 1600mhz processor. she keeps her notebook on all the time
because if she shuts it down or restarts it takes like 20 tries to get it
running again. it'll say operating system not found and it'll keep retrying
on its own and it will finally come on. any ideas what it might be. thanks

Sounds like her hard drive is failing. Be sure she backs up anything
critical and I'd put in a new drive.

"Operating system not found" is a BIOS message, not a Windows message; given
that fact I'd start looking into a hardware fault in your laptop. Most
likely a hard drive preparing to shuffle off the mortal coil but it could
also be memory or a motherboard fault.

Probably left a floppy in the drive.
