Tablet PC Problems with Input Panel "insert" button, pen recogniti

I am having two problems with my TabletPC input panel, usually happening in
Word but also in outlook and Internet explorer. They only stop if I restart
my computer. Closing & reopening the program does not fix them. I also have
a problem w/ the input panel dictionary.

One problem is that, randomly, parts of the input panel stop recording what
I write, no handwritten words show up, and the "text translation" is a bunch
of ellipses. For example, I can write 3 words on a line but once I get to the
half-way point on a line it stops picking up the pen, as if there's a "dead
zone". If I drag the input panel to somewhere else on the screen it will
start working again, the dead zone is localized, although it's not always in
the same place & often doesn't exist at all.

Second problem is that, again randomly, the panel will work great to pickup
my writing & translate it in the panel, but when I push "insert" the text
just disappears. This is not due to my cursor b/c its in the right spot and
if I switch to keyboard mode on the panel I can "type" into the document, or
if I use the real keyboard I can type, but it will not insert text. This is
very frustrating b/c I lose everything I've written, and once it starts the
handwriting input panel "insert" button usually won't work in any program
until I restart the computer. Even if I switch to the "docked" input panel it
doesn't work.

Also, a small problem w/ the dictionary. I will add a word & a week later I
have to add it again. At first I thought there were just two separate
dictionaries between the docked panel and the floating one, but that's not
it. Is the program limited to a certain number of personalized words & then
it starts overriding previously added ones? Are people working on fixing these
glitches? Is there something I can do?

I love my tablet and use it all day in class, but these glitches result in
me losing info and falling behind when the teacher is lecturing quickly. I
shouldn't have to restart my computer (Gateway M280) in the middle of class.

Any help is much appreciated.

Suggestions:
1) Use One Note to take your notes. You can convert handwriting to text
after the lecture when the pressure isn't on to keep up with the speaker.
GoBinder from Agilix would work for this too. Fully functional trial
versions are available for both of these programs.

2) Post the questions regarding the TIP in the tablet PC newsgroups. I'm
pretty sure I've seen both issues discussed there. Links to open that group
in your browser or in Outlook Express can be found here:

Thanks - looks like it is a common problem. For some reason I didn't see the
Tablet PC newsgroup before, but now I've posted my question there.
