tablet pc input panel issues

I am finding that the text I write into the floating input panel is not
being inserted into MS Word and simply disappears. This does not happen every
time, but enough that it is seriously disruptive. I have a toshiba M200 with
an uptodate tablet pc ed. including service pack 2 and an up-to-date MS
Office 2003, of which the MS Word is a part. Also, I don't seem to have this
problem with the input panel in other programs, which leads me to think that
this might be an Office/Word issue, which is why I ran the detect and repair
option on it, but this did nothing for the problem. Any suggestions would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks, RM
