Tables Open Slowly in Access 2003

I have an Access 97 Database that was converted to Access 2003. It contains
numerous tables that are linked over a network. Linked tables open slowly
which is expected due to network speed however local tables seem to take
sometimes two to three minutes to open. However if you open the Table via a
query it will open immediately. This did not happen in Access97.

There are several things to address here, including Name AutoCorrect and
SubdatasheetName
